In October our Systems Change Lead Claudene Cetinoglu and Experts by Experience member Sheila Blatchford were invited to present at Homeless Link's Everyone In for Good conference to talk about the role of lived experience in systems change. Here, Sheila shares her feedback on taking part.
“Talking about co-production and system change to other organisations was an amazing experience, being an equal voice on the panel was brilliant. We discussed the role we take in co-producing training and the organisations we have worked with, and sharing the way we manage this, as Experts by Experience.
“Fulfilling Lives Newcastle Gateshead have managed to embed co-production into the way we develop ideas, training, and opportunities. As members of the Experts Network we have been involved with numerous opportunities to spread the word about co-production and letting the voice of lived experience be at the heart of everything being done.
“Watching the chat-box on the webinar with so many positive comments as I was talking was fantastic. To see that people from all kinds of organisations were interested and eager to include the voice of lived experience in their activities too, and asking to connect with me for more information about how we do it, was inspiring.
“What we do through FLNG works, and others are watching, and learning, from us.”
