Lou Thorpe, our Female Engagement Co Production Worker with Fulfilling Lives attended the Social Care Institute for Excellence ( SCIE ) Co production Advanced Skills Training session on 23rd October in London.
The day was all about using real life situations where we would like to see evidence of co-production. Lou says:
‘An Action Learning Set approach was used to brainstorm ideas, to focus on practical steps and reflect on the results.
We were asked before attending if we could each came with a co-production related issue or query and worked through this using the above approach. This made me feel that the day was on track right from the very start and the trainers used an excellent and simple icebreaker that really got us talking about the fundamental considerations when talking co-production and making it happen!
There were attendees from around the country and I was pleased to come away from the day not only with some new learning and ideas but also with the belief that we up here in Newcastle and Gateshead are already showing great examples and working hard on further modelling and living the Co production approach.’
Lou was asked to give her feedback on the training at the end of the day. Watch here to see what she said and find out more about the course.
